Hi Debra!
Hey, I wanted to see if you could help us get the word out about LOPE's
first ever holiday benefit concert? It will be on Dec 17 -- and will feature
Hot Club of Cowtown, a really fun Austin swing and jazz band. We are holding
the event in the afternoon/early evening at a really fun West Austin ranch
venue -- Ceres Park Ranch. It has a micro-brewery on site, along with a
wonderful, restored pole barn that has been converted into a music and dance
hall :)
The event will feature lots of fun local Austin stuff -- local beer tasting
from Jester King Brewery (and brewery tours onsite!), wine tasting from
Solaro Estate vineyards and delicious cuisine from local food company
Peached Tortilla. Austin Equine Associates will also be holding a game of
Donkey Bingo to benefit LOPE (it's a really fun game involving donkeys, a
giant bingo board and lots of betting :)
The event will open around 2:00 -- and the music will begin begin around 5
pm. We thought it would be fun to make the event easy for people to stop by
at (maybe on their way to a later evening party or event). The concert
tickets are $20 and all proceeds will go to the LOPE horses (and their
winter hay fund).
We thought it might be fun for local barns, riding clubs and businesses to
think about using our benefit as their holiday party -- it would be
inexpensive, very fun (and so very "Austin") and of course would help the
LOPE horses tremendously :)
Would you mind passing the word to any of your horse friends (maybe a group
would want to come out together) or any other folks you think would be
interested? We could really use some help in getting the word out :)
We also plan to hold a silent auction with fun, last minute holiday gift
items at the event -- if you have any suggestions for that, please let me
know too.
